Team India completed a resounding victory over arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening encounter of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup on August 28 (Sunday). Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was adjudged player of the match for his excellent performance with both bat and ball. However, Ravindra Jadeja also played a crucial role in the match as he scored 30+ runs and helped his team to come close to the victory line.

In what can be said as the perfect ending to the entertaining contest between the arch-rivals, former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar was to interview Ravindra Jadeja for his knock of 35 runs from 29 balls. However, even before Manjrekar could ask a question, the left-handed batter was seen smiling constantly.

You are okay to talk to me, right Jaddu? asked Manjrekar

Looking at this, Manjrekar said, “First question, you are okay to talk to me, right Jaddu?” To which Jadeja calmly replied, “Yeah, Yeah. Absolutely,” as both of them burst out into laughter subsequently.

The controversy between Manjrekar and Jadeja had started after the former had termed the all-rounder as a “bits-and-pieces” cricketer. Jadeja had expressed his disappointment over the statement through a Twitter post. The former Indian cricketer was also removed from the Star Sports commentary panel for a good amount of period after he was involved in another controversy with commentator Harsha Bhogle.

However, it looks like both Jadeja and Manjrekar have moved ahead from the previous tussle, and both of them looked comfortable while talking to each other after team India’s victory over Pakistan.

“We wanted to play till the end, they have a very good bowling attack, their fast bowlers don’t give anything away,” Jadeja said during the post-match interview with Sanjay Manjrekar. “I could have finished the game – left-arm spinner against a left-hander, but Hardik played superbly. He came out and said he was going to play his shots, and happy that he stayed till the end,” the all-rounder added.
