Virat Kohli’s abysmal form has been the talk of IPL 2022. The former RCB skipper had scored 236 runs, averaging below 20 before his stellar show against GT. In terms of average, this is Kohli’s worst season since 2008. He is averaging just 23.77 in 14 games so far. But the right-hander has not let his lean form get to his head as he saw the funnier side of things when Rajasthan opener Jos Buttler approached him with a question. The incident took place in the aftermath of RCB’s loss against RR by 29 runs in Pune on April 26. Virat Kohli, in a chat with Harbhajan Singh for Star Sports, said, “Jos Buttler came to me, after the Rajasthan Royals match and said I want to ask you something and I told him that you’re wearing the Orange Cap what do you want to ask me, I am not able to make runs – and we had a laugh about it.” Jos Buttler is having a memorable tournament in contrast to Kohli as he holds the Orange Cap in IPL 2022. The wicketkeeper-batsman has scored 627 runs with three centuries to his name at an impressive average of 52.25. He is in contention of equalling Kohli’s record of four centuries in an IPL season. Although fans wouldn’t put it past the Englishman to give it another go in the upcoming games. Virat Kohli opens up on his poor run of form in IPL 2022 In an interview for RCB Insider, Kohli revealed the reason behind his reactions after getting out for consecutive golden ducks. Kohli welcomed the idea of taking a break from cricket to reinvigorate himself. “First-ball ducks. After the second one (duck), I actually realized what it feels like to be like you (Mr. Nags’ character), absolutely helpless. It hasn’t happened to me ever in my career, I think. I have seen everything now. It’s been so long, I have seen everything in this game,” Kohli said. “It’s not a lot of people who mentioned it. There is one person precisely who has mentioned it which is Ravi Bhai and that’s because he has seen from close quarters over the last six-seven years the reality of the situation that I have been in,” Kohli told Star Sports. “The amount of cricket that I have played and the ups and downs and the toll that it takes on you to play three formats of the game plus the IPL for 10-11 years non-stop with the seven years of captaincy in between,” he said.
