Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at PCB for the recently-released anthem for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Known for his straightforward and bold remarks, the outspoken former cricketer did not shy away from venting his frustration at the song. In a hilarious comment, he also said that the song had “scared my children.”

Akhtar, who has a huge following on social media, loves to analyze cricket matches or speak about anything related to the game. He regularly posts videos of himself analyzing the games on Twitter and YouTube. Keeping up with his reputation, Akhtar gave his views on the PSL anthem too. He took to YouTube to post a video where he could be seen expressing his frustration at the song.

Akhtar also posted a snippet of the video on Twitter. In his caption, Akhtar stated that he was disappointed with the anthem titled “Aaj Dekhe Ga Crowd Mera Groove TV Pe”. He also insisted that the PSL brand is going down with each passing year. In the video, the former cricketer criticized the composition of the song, saying: “Such poor composition. Such a poor song! Who from the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) gave this idea?”

“You guys have scared my children. They haven’t been talking to me for three days because of you,” added Shoaib Akhtar with a wry smile on his face. Akhtar also hilariously threatened the PCB with a legal case. Not only that, but he also took the literal meaning of “groove” to make his feelings clear as he said: “Groove means a drain.”

I will sing it for you: Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar took shots at the PCB by asking the cricket board to make a better song next time, Akhtar went as far as saying that he would sing it if the need arises. He also had some fun at the expense of PCB chief selector Mohammad Wasim by comparing his appearance with a couple of performers in the song.

“What have you done? You hid the clothes of our Chief Selector Mohammad Waseem and dressed the rappers in them,” he said before adding: “Make a better song next time and if you can’t, let me know I will sing it for you.”
