'You never know when the cloud cover arrives' - Salman Butt on challenging conditions for India on day five

India is up against England in the opening Test of the five-match series and given the current situation, it can be said that India is most likely to take away the first Test. As day four of the 1^st game ended, India have 157 runs to chase where Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara are currently up on the crease.

India lost KL Rahul for 26 during the first session and will have to move carefully to take away the game. In the same line, former Pakistan cricketer and analyst Salman Butt added that though India have the upper hand in the opening game, England bowlers are dangerous to tackle any day. Butt also added that English pacers and can take away the game at any moment and one never knows when cloud covers might come in English conditions.

“Team India are ahead in the Test but they are not clear favourites to win. You never know when the cloud cover arrives and the ball starts moving around. England’s bowling has been outstanding so far. KL Rahul got a good ball and there wasn’t much he could do much as he got out. So, every time a wicket falls, England will be back in the game,” said Butt on his YouTube channel while previewing the game for day 5.

“Someone from the Indian team will have to play a match-winning knock. It could be Rohit Sharma or captain Virat Kohli. Cheteshwar Pujara needs to stay in and take the shine off the ball. The chase won’t be easy and it will be a big victory if Team India wins this Test. I feel whoever wins the first session will win the Test,” he further added.

In the end, Butt credited India’s bowling department for bringing out a spectacular show at Trent Bridge. The pace attack led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami gave desirable results in both the innings and restricted England from scoring big. It will be a thing to see how Sharma and Pujara take up the game as it resumed on day 5.
