'You told me to focus on my game and don’t worry about you' - Harshal Patel pens emotional note for late sister
Harshal Patel had to leave the bio bubble for RCB immediately after coming to know about the tragic incident.
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowler Harshal Patel posted an emotional letter for his late sister Archita Patel on Instagram, sharing about her love and kindness towards him. Harshal, who has emerged as one of India’s premier white-ball pacers, will have to get through the emotional challenges that lie after his sister’s demise. He had to leave the bio-bubble for RCB immediately after coming to know about the tragic incident, and did not take part in the following game against CSK.
Harshal added it was the words of her sister, asking him to focus on his game, that helped him to get back on the field for the Delhi Capitals game. He also was keen to make her proud throughout his career and mentioned his love for his sister.
I will continue to do everything that made you proud of me: Harshal Patel to his late sister
“You were one of the kindest and most joyful person in our lives. You faced incredible difficulties in life with a big smile on your face till your last breath. When I was with you in the hospital before I came back to India you told me to focus on my game and don’t worry about you,” Harshal said via his Instagram post.
“Those words was the only reason I could come back and take the field last night. That’s all I could do now to remember and honour you. I will continue to do everything that made you proud of me. I will miss you every moment of my life, in good times and bad. I love you so much. Rest in peace jadi❤️❤️❤️,” he added.
Meanwhile, Patel has been around the IPL and the domestic circuit for a long time now but has struggled to solidify his position. His breakthrough season came last year for RCB as he shattered a lot of IPL records and grabbed the Purple Cap as well with 32 wickets to his name.
He went on to make his debut for India and has made a mark already by taking the responsibilities of bowling the tough overs. He was brought back by RCB in the mega auction for INR 10.75 crore and he has proved his worth so far with six wickets in five games. His impact on the side was felt when he had to miss a game due to the sudden demise of his sister and RCB ended up losing that game to CSK. He was back for the previous game and bowled the tough overs again for his side.
