Bumrah enhances his reputation
India is managing Jasprit Bumrah’s workload extremely well and was rested for the limited-overs leg of the West Indies tour after the World Cup. He made his comeback for the two-match Test series which also marked the start of India’s journey in World Test Championship. Bumrah got into his groove in the practice game and straight-away stamped his authority in the series opener in Antigua.
Though Ishant Sharma shined in the first innings, Bumrah found his mark in the second and rattled the opposition in no time. He returned with the magical figures of 5/7 as the Caribbeans were skittled for just 100 runs to lose the Test match by a massive 318-run margin. Jasprit Bumrah is now the first Asian bowler to pick five-wicket haul each in Australia, West Indies, South Africa and England in the whites.
