Yuvraj Singh rubbishes rumours of debuting in a web series with wife Hazel and brother Zoravar
Yuvi, as he is fondly known as, played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India in a career spanning 2000-2017.
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been testing out new avenues after saying goodbye to his cricketing career last year. He called time on his international and IPL career but has continued to play in other T20 and T10 leagues. The left-hander will also be seen in the upcoming Road Safety World T20 series, playing for India legends.
The 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup-winning player was supposed to debut in a web series produced by Assam-based Dream House Productionz, as per reports. This series is supposed to have his brother Zoravar in the lead and also feature his wife, actress Hazel Keech, who is known for his supporting role in Salman Khan starrer movie Bodyguard. Shabnam Singh, mother of Yuvraj and Zoravar will also be associated with the web series.
Yuvraj Singh refutes rumours of acting
However, it seems all of the reports of him making his acting debut in the web series are all false, as Yuvraj Singh himself has come out with the truth. The cricketer took to Twitter and posted a message clarifying that the said web series features his younger brother Zoravar and not him.
“Just to put some things in to correct perspective with regards to the recent news on me making a debut into web series is factually incorrect, the web series features my younger brother and not me. Request all my friends in media to take corrective measures on the same. ThankYou,” he tweeted.
But the Punjab lad is no stranger to silver screen given that he was a child star and had starred in Punjabi movies like Mehndi Sagna Di and Putt Sardara. He was also recently seen in an episode of the Indian version of hit sitcom ‘The Office’. The 2011 World Cup Player of the tournament is well known for his sense of humour and stories of him ribbing his teammates are admirable.
Yuvi, as he is fondly known as, played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India in a career spanning 2000-2017 and scored 1900, 8701 and 1177 runs respectively. He scored a total of 3 Tests and 14 ODI centuries to his name.
Yuvraj picked 111 wickets in ODIs as well. He had a very good career in IPL as well, making 2750 runs in 132 matches with 13 fifties and at a strike rate of 129.71 and an average of 24.77. He also picked 36 wickets including two hat-tricks to his name in the tournament.
