Yuvraj Singh’s wife congratulates him on his 300th ODI milestone
Many of the past and present Indian cricketers also congratulated Yuvi on his feat. Among them, the tweets of Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj’s wife Hazel Keech stood out.
Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, often known as the King of comebacks, has been a huge inspiration for not just his cricket fans but also for people who face obstacles in life but live with the spirit of not giving up. The ICC Champions Trophy semi-final clash against Bangladesh was Yuvraj’s 300th ODI appearance, a landmark feat for a person who fought back despite a near-death experience.
Yuvraj has always been sensational when it has come to ICC events. On the eve of achieving the special milestone of reaching his 300th ODI, the batsman, who famously hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in 2007, posted an emotional tweet expressing how all his parents, friends and fans will be proud of him coming this far in life threatening cancer. “300th game ! I’m sure my parents ,gurus, friends and well wishers will be proud of me today how far I have come with my battles in life” he tweeted.
Many of the past and present Indian cricketers also congratulated Yuvi on his feat. Among them, the tweets of Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj’s wife Hazel Keech stood out. Sachin tweeted saying “If there’s one word that personifies @YUVSTRONG12, it’s resilience and he embodies this spirit…”
Proud wife
On the other hand, Mrs Singh called her husband a hero among men for coming this far in life after all the adversities.“@YUVSTRONG12 300!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes indeed we are proud!!! You beautiful human! Youre a hero amongst men” she wrote.
Among others to congratulate Yuvraj were Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, VVS Laxman, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ishant Sharma. Yuvraj is only the fifth Indian cricketer — after Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid — to achieve the rare milestone. And what makes it special is that he fought cancer, which he was diagnosed with after the 2011 World Cup, to come this far.
