Yuzvendra Chahal gets nostalgic as he shares a throwback picture with MS Dhoni
Yuzvendra Chahal got nostalgic as he shared a throwback picture with Mahendra Singh Dhoni on social media.
MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the world cup semi-final against New Zealand at the Old Trafford stadium. India fell short by 18 runs in that game where Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni almost pulled off a miraculous victory. Since then it has been a clear signal from the selectors that they are not seeing Dhoni for the future.
Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been a regular in the shorter formats for India for the last three years, is missing Dhoni’s advice from behind the wicket as he took to Twiter to share his memories with the Indian gloveman. The picture was clicked before the 2019 World Cup campaign in England and Wales.
Chahal’s buddy in the team, his partner in crime, Kuldeep Yadav is also there in the picture. Kuldeep last played a T20I in February against New Zealand. With Ravindra Jadeja in stupendous form in white-ball cricket, Kuldeep has been in and out of the squad for the last six months.
Hardik Pandya also shared his memory with MS Dhoni and his daughter
Hardik Pandya, one of India’s trusted players in the limited-overs, has been out of action for the last two months due to a back injury. While he is preparing to get back into the groove, he is definitely missing the captain cool on the field since the World Cup. Recently, he shared a picture of him along with Dhoni and his daughter Ziva on Instagram.
Hardik Pandya last played a game in the month of September in West Indies. Team India is hopeful of getting him back on the field as quickly as possible as he is a reliable all-rounder for India across all formats.
With time flying by, it seems selectors have moved on from Dhoni. It is evident from the fact that despite of RishabPant’s inconsistency and failures, team management is stuck with him and has also brought Sanju Samson as his backup. The stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma also wants media and critics to stay away from the young wicketkeeper for some time in order to bring the best out of him.
