Yuzvendra Chahal ready to borrow AB de Villiers' MRF bat for IPL 2020
IPL 2020 will start from September 19.
The much-awaited 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will get underway from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10. Due to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in India, the tournament was delayed and has now been moved out of the country. The 2020 edition of the cash-rich league will be played across three venues namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
The entire IPL 2020 will be played in a bio-secure environment, with the utmost safety measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, all the cricketers and staff members are serving a mandatory six-day quarantine period and will be undergoing rounds of COVID-19 tests in their respective hotels and resorts before bracing the match field for practice and training.
The IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore had assembled in the Gulf country on August 21 (Friday). On the morning of the following day, Proteas cricketers including the likes of AB de Villiers, Chris Morris, and Dale Steyn had joined the team in UAE. As per the protocols, Virat Kohli & Co. is expected to come out of their quarantine period soon and start their field camp.
AB de Villiers surviving the last day of his quarantine
The swashbuckling batsman AB de Villiers cannot contain his excitement on passing this six-days quarantine period and is looking forward to training with his fellow teammates. Sharing his happiness on his official Instagram handle, De Villiers shared his picture where he can be seen posing with his training gear which includes wicketkeeping gloves, pads, bats, and shoes.
He captioned the picture as, “Final day of quarantine here in Dubai. Gear is ready, I’m ready, can’t wait to get out there with @royalchallengersbangalore! Almost time for @iplt20 2020.”
Seeing the post of the hard-hitting batsman, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is known for his witty remarks, took a cheeky dig at AB saying that after a few days, the Proteas star would be left with only two bats. In the picture, AB can be seen flaunting his three bats.
Chahal commented, “After couple of days you will see only 2 bats sir.”
To this, the South African cricketer replied saying, “Watch it.”
