Brett Lee and his new film ‘UnIndian’ are doing the rounds in the country. However, in most of the publicity interviews given by the Aussie thus far, most of them have come down to his comments on cricket. Lee, who called it quits from international cricket a couple of years back has seamlessly slipped into the life of a movie star, something that most certainly happens very rarely.

Speaking about the New Zealand tour of India, Lee became one of the few pundits to warn India about the Kiwis. Although the Indian wickets do have a history of turning, a few pacers have found it easy to extract swing from the dry wickets. Lee also added that a bowler like Trent Boult would be dangerous in these conditions.

“Yes. They do have. Boult can definitely do a Starc in India. He has the pace to trouble the Indian batters. Boult and Southee combine really well and are good. Though there might not be a lot in the wicket for pacers, they can make use of the new ball. However, reversing the old ball is vital to be successful,” he said.

In the matter of Indian seamers, Brett Lee went on to point out that Zaheer Khan was one of the few players in the world who managed to get reverse swing in subcontinent conditions. He also went on to state that Zaheer was a genius and someone who would be supremely difficult to replace in the years to come in spite of the fact that the Indians have a talent pool of pace bowlers.

“He is a genius. He swung the new ball, changed his pace, bowled cutters and then possessed great skills to reverse. That’s why he was successful in these conditions,” said Lee on his former Indian compatriot.

The Indians will kick-off their series of 3 Test matches against the Kiwis in the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, a match that will mark the 500th Test match for India.
