The flagship Ice cricket tournament, slated to take place on February 8 and 9, in Switzerland is set to feature yet another ex-Indian cricketer. Former pacer Zaheer Khan is the latest cricketer to join a host of former stars for the inaugural St. Moritz Ice Cricket tournament. Earlier Virender Sehwag and Ajit Agarkar confirmed their participation in this unique tournament.
The two-day event will take place against the serene and breath-taking backdrop of the Swiss mountains which will host two matches in two days. The lake freezes into an extremely thick layer of ice, enabling the lake to withstand more than 200 tons of weight, thereby providing the apt conditions to construct pavilion and grandstands to watch and support the festivities.
Taking to his twitter handle, Zaheer expressed his excitement at taking part in the tournament. He wrote, “Have played cricket on streets, in maidans, on a ground, but come Feb 8th and 9th, I am going to play Cricket on Ice for the first time ever with some of the biggest stars of the game in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Considering the temperatures #AbJamegiKulfi.”
