Windies and Zimbabwe, the teams on the lower side of ICC Test rankings separated by Bangladesh, will be looking to add some crucial points before the new Test nations step in and surpass them. Anything less than a series win will see Windies slipping down to No.9 below Bangladesh while anything except for a 2-0 loss will see Zimbabwe gaining rating points.

Here we look at the key stats and records ahead of the series

0 – Number of wins for Zimbabwe in Test cricket against Windies. Both the sides faced off in eight Test matches with Windies winning in six of them.

2 – Number of wins for Windies in Test cricket in 2017. They managed to win one match in 2015 and 2016 while two in 2013, three in 2014 and four Test matches in 2012. The last time Windies won more than four Tests in a calendar year was way back in 1998.

3 – Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and Kieran Powell are the only Windies players in the current squad to have played a Test match against Zimbabwe. Eleven Zimbabwe players in the squad have featured in a Test against Windies previously.

4 – Zimbabwe and Windies faced against each other in four Test matches in Zimbabwe. Two Tests played in Harare ended in a draw while Windies won both the Tests played in Bulawayo.

46 – Wickets Graeme Cremer has picked up in Test cricket so far. He needs four more wickets to become 8th Zimbabwe player to take 50 Test wickets.

49 – Number of wickets Jason Holder has picked in Test format. He needs one more wicket to become the 10th Windies player to complete the double of 1000 runs and 50 wickets in Test cricket.

89 – Devendra Bishoo has picked up 89 wickets in Test cricket. He needs 11 wickets to complete 100 Test wickets. So far 20 Windies players have bagged 100 wickets in this format.

2005 – The last time Zimbabwe ever involved in a drawn Test match was back in 2005. Since then, they played 25 Tests out of which they lost 22 and won three.

2013 – Zimbabwe’s last Test win came in September 2013 against Pakistan. Since then, they lost all the nine Test matches they featured in.
