Some say that height does contribute to an important factor but there have been a number of players who have beaten all the odds and stood to be into the international stages of cricket despite of their lagging heights. We have seen players like Tatenda Taibu, Parthiv Patel claiming decent importance in the international sphere. Even Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, referred to as ‘Little Master’ have been prolific in their cricket careers ignoring their short heights. So as a token of respect, we enlist the 10 Shortest Cricketers in international Cricket: 10 – Mominul Haque, 5ft. 3.5in. : Mominul Haque. At 23 years Mominul Haque has represented Bangladesh in 27 Tests and 26 ODIs has 2154 and 543 runs respectively. He comes from the coastal town of Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Mominul earned himself a place in the squad after a couple of good, consistent and performance filled seasons in First Class cricket, and was in as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan, who was out with an injury. The former Australian skipper played a total of 107 tests and scored a total of 7422 runs by his name. Parthiv has been a decent wicket keeper batsman for India and he was the wicket keeper for the RCB in IPL 2018. 4 – Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh, 5ft. : Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim has been the skipper of the national side and is presently the skipper of the ODI side of Bangladesh. 3 – Alfred Freeman, England, 5ft. : Alfred Freeman. He made his debut to international cricket in the year 1924 and played a total of 12 tests. Freeman managed to pick 66 wickets in his international career. 2 – Walter Cornford, England, 5ft. : (Source) Also known as Tich Cornford, Walter Latter Cornford played a total of 4 tests for England. He was a wicket keeping batsman for England and had a profound influence in England’s domestic cricket and played a total of 496 domestic matches. 1 – Kruger Van Wyk, New Zealand, 4ft. 9in. : Kruger Van Wyk. Van Wyk also played a total of 9 test matches for England and played his last test match back in 2012. He is currently playing for Central Districts in New Zealand’s domestic cricketing tournament.
