3 Players who can replace Virat Kohli as RCB Captain in next IPL season
Will RCB change their skipper next season?
2. Aaron Finch
The Australian limited overs skipper, Aaron Finch needs no introduction. He is one of the best T20 batsmen going around. His IPL record may not be the best but he has been an absolute beast at the international level. In 64 T20Is he has scored 2114 runs at an average of 38.44 and a strike rate of 154.65. He has two T20I hundreds which shows that he has the ability to play the long innings.
When he was picked by RCB for the 2020 season, fans were pleased with his addition. It was expected that he will not only add might to their batting, but also be a crucial member of the leadership group. However, despite being given a long rope, Finch could just not find form this year. He was out of sorts and eventually had to be dropped. Although, he did make a comeback in the eliminator, he was evidently struggling to time the ball.
If Virat Kohli is sacked, the Aussie would surely be in contention for the captaincy role. He is bound to do better in India. The Bangalore conditions would suit Finch the batsman, and if he regains confidence with the bat, he is surely going to be able to lead from the front. He has led Australia in 37 T20Is out of which they have won 19. He also led Melbourne Renegades to their maiden BBL title in the 2018-2019 season. He is a seasoned campaigner, and with all the experience he has of leading sides, he could just be the perfect man to lead RCB.
