3 Players who were flops for RCB in IPL 2019 but can help them win the title in 2020
A chance for these RCB players to make it big in IPL 2020.
Every year, the fans have their hopes and expectations high from the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore – RCB. But the sad story has never ended for the team in the past 12 seasons. They fail to deliver, leaving the hopes in shatters.
The story was no different in 2019. The team lost yet again, with stars failing to deliver. Well, the story could be totally different in 2020, but all depends on the management’s decision. Many flop players from the last season’s squad have performed in the international and domestic games, and their form might help the team to turn the tables in the next season.
But it would be interesting to see whether the Bangalore-based franchise would retain them after the failure in the previous season. On this note, let us take a look at 3 such flops from the last season, who can help RCB win a title in the next season if given a chance:
1. Shimron Hetmyer
RCB had expected a lot from Shimron in 2018, but the explosive West Indies batsman could never settle in the team. He failed to score in the initial games, which forced the team to drop him out only after four games. He showed a glimpse of his brilliance with a 74-run knock in RCB’s final game, but that wasn’t the justice to his talent and high price of Rs 4 crores.
However, there has been a visible improvement in his game since then. The southpaw was a part of the West Indies squad for the World Cup and chipped in with cameos in several games, that helped his team to reach to good totals.
His hard-hitting abilities aren’t hidden from anyone. This quality makes him a T20 specialist, as one can expect him to accelerate the run-rate when needed. The team lacked support from other batsmen to Virat and AB de Villiers throughout the last season. If Shimron performs well this season, the chances of the team’s victory will increase tremendously.
