3 weaklings in India’s T20I squad Bangladesh can look to exploit
The Tigers have a lot of homework to do before they take on the Men in Blue in the latter's backyard.
Shardul Thakur
Shardul Thakur is a wicket-taking prospect and there’s hardly any doubt over it. But in T20s, he can leak runs at times at an alarming rate as his economy rate of 8.39 would put forth. That rate shoots up to 8.80 in the seven T20Is he has played thus far in his career.
The Mumbai speedster last donned the national colours in the T20 format back in March 2018 during the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka. Thakur played three matches versus Bangladesh and could manage two wickets, giving away 107 runs.
Hence, it can be said that he doesn’t have happy memories playing against the Tigers, who aren’t oblivious of his tricks. With Khaleel Ahmed and Deepak Chahar in the mix, Thakur may not be an automatic choice. But if and when he plays, the Tigers shouldn’t allow him to settle down.
