The targeted demographic of the tournament has also increased as the people from all age groups have started enjoying the tournament and the activities surrounding it. The fact that some of the greatest cricketers in the world play together in the tournament for franchises owned by other stars is undoubtedly an interesting proposition.

An evident example of their rising interest in the sport can be seen in a match between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. A child is seen holding a banner which says that he is skipping his homework in order to watch the match and is asking Dhoni to make the punishment he would receive for missing his work worth it.
