Team India star batter Virat Kohli batted at the number four spot in the 2011 World Cup with the top three positions occupied by Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir. The right-handed batter played several crucial knocks for the Men in Blue in the tournament.

After the above-mentioned players retired from the game, Kohli took the all-important number three batting spot in the Indian team and has done a commendable job in that position. However, the Men in Blue have not been able to fix a batter to bat at the number four spot.

The team management has tried several options including Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Manish Pandey, Suresh Raina, and Dinesh Karthik among others, but none of them have been able to solve team India’s number four batting position woes. At present, Suryakumar Yadav is the chief contender to bat at the spot.
