Mickey Arthur, the former Aussie coach also hit the headlines due to his ‘Homework Gate’ controversy. Actually, in 2013, Australia went on a tour to India for playing Test series. They didn’t get off to a great start to their series and lost their first two games. Moreover, they were struggling against the Indian spinners who grabbed 34 wickets out of 40 in two games.

After the 2nd Test, Mickey Arthur gave an assignment to all the players in the squad to come up with some ideas in order to improve the performance. However, four players including Shane Watson, James Pattinson, Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson failed to complete the homework given by their coach. Later on, they were axed from the next Test that was scheduled to take place in Mohali.

This step taken by the management backfired and gave air to one of the biggest controversies in the cricketing history of Australia. Soon, Mickey Arthur was sacked from the post by Cricket Australia for implementing such methods on the team.
