Sunil Narine made a name for himself through T20 cricket. He is very difficult to get away and more often than not, batsmen tend to play him out and see off his four overs. He is a genuine wicket-taker and a game-changer with the ball. Moreover, his batting has come along really well too which has made him a destructive opener.

Hence, it’s no surprise, every time Narine’s price has increased every time there’s been a big auction around. 2012 was his maiden season and the mystery spinner was bought for $700,000. But in 2014, he was retained by KKR for INR 9.5 crores.

His consistent performances in the IPL earned him another retention in 2018. He was retained for INR 8.5 crores and was KKR’s first-choice retained player. Meanwhile, in the draft for The Hundred, the Oval Invincibles gave £125,000 for the West Indian mystery spinner which was at least eight times less than what Narine gets in the IPL.
