Playing for the Rising Pune Supergiants last season he was underplayed by the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. He was released this season by RPS and went into the auction with a base price of 50 lakhs which is acceptable.

Irfan Pathan also showed signs of coming back to form in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament for West Zone picking crucial wickets with the new ball. However, nothing convinced any of the franchise and the hammer of Richard Madley said unsold for this player despite being presented twice.
