5 Famous cricketers who are yet to join Twitter

Cricketers usually love interacting with their fans on social media. They share many updates about their life, performances, their opinions in matters of public interest etc, especially on Twitter. A few of the cricketers also use social media to spread awareness about various campaigns while a few others use it for brand promotions. In a world where you can share anything and then like, comment, retweet and take various other actions, very few have managed to stay at bay of this revolution. Famous cricketers have millions of people following them on their social media platforms. There are immensely popular within and beyond the boundaries. Twitter, the micro-blogging site is one of the most popular social media platforms. While most of these cricketers have an account on Twitter, some of them are yet to signup. Here is the list of famous cricketers who are yet to join Twitter: 1. Kane Williamson Kane Williamson of Sunrisers Hyderabad. (Photo by Surjeet Yadav/IANS) Kane Williamson is the current New Zealand skipper across all the formats. He is technically one of the most sound and gifted batsmen in the world. Williamson is extremely famous around the globe. He is one of the ‘Fab-Four’ batsmen and represents the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is leading them this season. But, Williamson does not have a Twitter account. Although he is quite active on photo-sharing app Instagram, he doesn’t really prefer using Twitter. He has 84.7K followers on Instagram and he would definitely gain a lot more following if he was active on Twitter. 2. Piyush Chawla Piyush Chawla of Kolkata Knight Riders. (Photo by IANS) Piyush Chawla was the part of the World Cup winning Indian squad in 2011. But he hasn’t represented Team India in a lot of games. He has played 3 Tests, 25 ODIs and 7 T20Is at the highest level. In his international career so far, Piyush 43 wickets which is not really great. Hence, he had to be sidelined from the team. But, the leg-spinner has been one of the top performers in the IPL. He initially represented the Kings XI Punjab in his career and later moved on to KKR. Piyush has picked 134 wickets in 138 IPL games and is a crucial member of Kolkata squad. Just like Kane, Piyush Chawla doesn’t have a Twitter account although he is quite active on Instagram. 3. He shot into limelight when KKR went on a rampage against RCB bowling them out for just 49. Later, in 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers in the player auction. He is an important part of their plans and the New Zealand all-rounder definitely has a brilliant future ahead. The 31-year-old has just about a 1,000 international runs and 41 international wickets. He is yet to make a big impact in the IPL and RCB will hope that this will be the year when he’ll do that. Interestingly, CDG is someone who keeps himself away from the social media. He doesn’t have a Twitter account and has recently created an Instagram account where he has posted two pictures. 4. Evin Lewis Mumbai Indians’ Evin Lewis. (Photo by IANS) Evin Lewis has emerged as one of the hardest hitters of the cricket ball in the recent times. As soon as he finds the ball in his arc, he smokes it a long way. The Windies opener is often considered to be the next Chris Gayle due to his six hitting abilities. The 26-year-old Trinidadian has represented Windies in 14 T20Is and already has two centuries to his name. Lewis is one of the few cricketers who have two T20I centuries. Furthermore, he also has two ODI centuries and plies his trade in T20 leagues around the world. Also, he has scored the highest runs in T20Is in 2017. Hence, he was picked by the Mumbai Indians in the auction. Lewis too doesn’t have a Twitter account. 5. Tim Southee Tim Southee. (Photo Source: Twitter) Tim Southee is another New Zealand cricketer who keeps away from the social media. He is among the most important members of the New Zealand team given his ability to swing the ball both ways and his pinpoint accuracy. Southee has represented the Black Caps in 60 Tests, 133 ODIs and 50 T20Is. The pacer has 458 international wickets to his name and is extremely famous across the globe. But he doesn’t have a Twitter account. However, he is quite active on Instagram and has over 185K followers and has posted quite a few pictures over there.
