Imran Tahir, the veteran South Africa leg-spinner, hasn’t gotten much chance of late to show his prowess. In the 2021 PSL, he got to play only a solitary match against the Gladiators where he picked up the wickets of both the openers- Saim Ayub and Usman Khan.

In the spin-bowling department, Mohammad Rizwan’s Sultans mostly preferred leggie Usman Qadir and the veteran Shahid Afridi. In the 2021 IPL as well, he didn’t have a great time mostly because he had to sit out.

The Lahore-born Tahir played only one match against Virat Kohli’s RCB where he picked up two wickets, conceding only 16 runs in his four overs. But then, MS Dhoni’s CSK preferred only Ravindra Jadeja as their main spinner. It remains to be seen if he gets enough chances in the second leg of the PSL.
