He has been a pivotal member of the bowling attack of one of the most successful sides in the IPL. Imran Tahir has woven a web around opposition batsmen with the ball in his hand and has provided vital breakthroughs for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) whenever the need arose.

The leg spinner has featured in 6 seasons of the league and has picked up 79 wickets at an average of 20.39.In fact, in the 2019 edition of the league, Tahir won the purple cap award, picking up as many as 26 wickets in the edition. Before he joined the CSK camp, Tahir was offering his services for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Rising Pune Supergiant.

Tahir is now 41 years old and is at the fag end of his career. Also, the CSK side might not miss his absence so much, for they are loaded with spinners like Mitchell Santner, Piyush Chawla and Karn Sharma and he might bid adieu after the 2020 season of the IPL. Fans are definitely going to miss that famous celebratory run from Tahir after this edition of the tournament.
