With Arshdeep Singh emerging as a strong pace option in the squad, Avesh Khan needs to find a silver lining to get his place in the side. In the recent few games, where both of them have performed together, the left-arm pacer has given better performances as compared to Avesh.

Avesh’s tendency is to give away many runs rather than maintaining the line and length and focusing on the wicket. It is exactly the opposite with Arshdeep, who keeps his economy under check, thereby getting the crucial wickets whenever needed.

It is difficult to expect Avesh to perform well in every game, and thus he might not be named in India’s World Cup squad. He needs to work more on his ability to out-think the batter in order to give tough competition to the other contenders and make himself stand out.
