5 players who can break Chris Gayle's record of 175*
Even after 6 years of its existence, the knock is still unbeaten and remains the highest individual score in T20s.
4. Aaron Finch
Aaron Finch was once the best T20I player going around. He was the no. 1 batsman in ICC T20I rankings for a long time during 2014 to 2017. A large credit for the beginning of his career also goes to the shortest format of the game as he broke into the scene with his heroics in the Big Bash tournament of 2009.
His habit of scoring long hundreds didn’t vanish there itself and in 2013, he went on to play a massive 156-run-knock against the English side. It was also the highest individual score in T20Is at that time. The 32-year-old, despite being an opener, has the wonderful capability of finishing games in an aggressive-yet-reliable manner.
Finch’s T20 algorithm is quite developed and maintained. He can set the game on fire from the get-go and can also take it deeper to eventually finish at the right time. He had given a very fine example of this just a few days ago in the T20I against Sri Lanka. The Australian captain is also currently at the 4th spot in the ICC rankings and if the odds go in his favor, he might score more than 175 runs in an innings in the near future.
