Prior to the auction, The Mumbai Indians went in with the agenda of grabbing an aggressive batsmen at the top of the order. The franchise would have come out smiling having acquired a powerhouse in the form of Chris Lynn, purchasing him for his base price of 2 crores.

A player to watch out for this year, Chris Lynn has agonized the bowlers in the opposition for years in the past. His hard-hitting capabilities backed up with a reasonably good strike rate of 140.65 and scoring at an average of almost 34 would be a great fit to Mumbai keeping the batting pitch of Wankhede in mind.

Before being released by KKR, he had proven to be a great resource to the team having provided mammoth starts at the power play in a number of occasions. The Indians hope he takes this form into the 13th edition of the league starting at the end of March. With a destructive player like him at the top of the line-up, the opposition bowlers will have a challenging task on hand.
