Suryakumar Yadav has been an exceptional contributor to the Mumbai family ever since he joined the franchise in 2010. Having shown his abilities to decimate attacks, he was the key acquisition for the team in his debut year and has ever since never shied away from an opportunity on the IPL stage.

Yadav returned to Mumbai Indians for the 11th season for INR 3.2 crores, following which there was no going back. The Mumbai batsman put this knowledge and opportunities to full use, producing match-winning knocks for the team. Asked to open the batting, Suryakumar flaunted to brilliance scoring over 500 runs in 2018, which included four half-centuries.

Being a key stakeholder in their lineup, he is also known for his versatility and playing as per the situation in any batting position. Being able to alter his plan of action and delivering the performances which he is used to providing the team is something the team will look forward to this year. Mumbai Indians have in them yet another opener and would be hoping for a replication of the previous edition’s performance with Yadav donning the opening slot.
