5 Players who deserve a chance at number 7 in the Indian ODI team
2. Irfan Pathan:
One of the most talented swing bowlers from India, Irfan Pathan was once India’s integral member of the team in 2004, 2005. Afflicted by a back injury which subsequently led to his loss of form, he lost his place in the Indian ODI and the test side in 2009. After that he made several attempts to come back to the Indian side and did so in 2012 but once again his never ending fitness issues prevented him from cementing his place in the side. He was picked by the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2015 on the back of some noteworthy performances in the Ranji Trophy for Baroda, with wickets coming for him off classic swing bowlers deliveries, and his bat shining on to win games for Baroda as well, but he didn’t play a single game for CSK this IPL. Now that Ravindra Jadeja is likely to lose his place in the side, it is a propitious opportunity to make a stellar comeback to the side and cement his place once again.
