The tall and lanky left-arm pacer is justifying his hefty price tag at the IPL 2022 mega auction. The Delhi Capitals pacer is among the front runners to claim the Purple Cap, having seven scalps to his name in just three outings at an average of 12.29. In the last fixture against Kolkata Knight Riders, he picked up three wickets in his four-over spell, which included crucial wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Sam Billings, and Venkatesh Iyer.

This is a massive improvement as far as Khaleel’s 2022 IPL season is concerned. Last year, he managed to pick up just five wickets in seven outings at an average of 43.80, and an economy of over eight. In 2020, Khaleel managed to scalp eight wickets in seven matches at an economy of 9.42 runs per over. However, this time around, he has looked a lot sharp and has managed to hit the right line and lengths.

The former Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer has also been more economical with the ball this season, despite bowling in crunch moments of the game. With Anrich Nortje’s fitness proving to be a major issue for the Capitals, Khaleel Ahmed is one of Rishabh Pant’s most trusted bowlers in the death overs.
