5 players who helped India to win the T20I series against Australia

After 140 years any team has done the whitewash of Australia and that team is India and they have achieved that feet by beating Australia at Sydney today by seven wickets. After losing the ODI series by 4-1, India have managed to comeback and seal the T20I series in some style under the leadership of MS Dhoni who now becomes the seventh captain who has won two or more than two series in Australia. India has the perfect mix of youth and experienced players for this T20I series and that helped India to beat Australia in the series. We have seen many match-winning performances from India’s players in the 3 match T20I series and of course in the ODI series but here we have presented the five players who have played well in all situations and helped India to win the T20I series against Australia. 1. After showing his class in ODIs series, now Virat Kohli has scored 199 runs in this series which is most by any batsman in a 3-match bilateral ODI series. He is not someone who can hit sixes like Glenn Maxwell or Rohit Sharma but he has his way of looking this format and as he has said many times that he always tries to find the gaps on the ground and looks to score more by hitting fours by searching the gaps and he has executed his plans perfectly in this series and as a result of that he was awarded Man of the Series. He has scored three fifties in the series and made 199 runs at a strike rate of 160.48 and at an average of 199.00. 2. Rohit Sharma India’s Rohit Sharma. He was the Man of the Series in ODIs and it was important for him to continue his form and he continued and scored 143 runs with two fifties at a strike rate of 136.19. Now, he has given hopes to many Indian fans that they can trust him and he can be the trump card for India in the upcoming T20I World Cup. 3. However, he has not scored big runs like Virat Kohli and Rohit Shamra but with his late cameos in the first two T20Is and brilliant bowling changes, he ensured that India cannot loss this series. He has selected a very good team and motivated young players like Hardik Pandya throughout the series to perform well and given opportunities to players like Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni. He has shown faith in Ashish Nehra and Nehra performed decently after making his comeback after 5 years into the Indian team. (Photo by Ishara S.KODIKARA/AFP/Getty Images) A player who is at no.2 in the ICC Test bowler’s ranking and dropped from the team for the last three ODIs against Australia and certainly it is hard to believe but he has given chances to showcase his skills by the team management and he has performed well by picking up wickets at crucial times of the match provided that it is not easy to make a comeback for a player by knowing the fact that Harbhajan Singh is sitting on the bench but he performed well and helped India to win the series. MS Dhoni always loves to control the game when his spinners are bowling well in tandem and this time around him and Jadeja bowled well throughout the series barring this third T20I and helped India to clinch the series. 5. He has showed that he can be the bowler that MS Dhoni wants in the team who cannot give easy runs from one end and in this series MS Dhoni has given many times a ball to Jadeja whenever Australian batsmen were going after other bowlers and he has proved Dhoni’s decision right by picking up five wickets in the series. He can be a vital factor on Indian pitches with both the bat and ball plus his fielding abilities but now it is up to him to continue his form till the World Cup to help India to win the second T20I World Cup.
