The ICC World T20 is the greatest platform of the newest format of the game. With all teams gearing up for the epic battleground as World T20 comes to India, there is a lot of buzz about the grandeur of the tournament this year around. The entertainment factor will reach the plethora and the cricket fans are bound to love the T20 extravaganza. The previous editions of the tournament have been a great success, but we have our reasons to believe why this edition of T20 World Cup will be the best ever. Read on to find out the 5 reasons why ICC World T20 2016 will be the best ever in the history of the game:

1. Battle of Equals – All teams look Good

Unlike most other editions, this edition of T20 looks to be an even battle for all the teams. Though one might claim that India will start off as the favourites, it is only unfair to rule out other sides. The T20 format, for the format that it is, is never a settled one. As Steve Smith, Australia Captain, rightly quoted that any player can take the game away on a given day in T20 cricket. South Africa is looking like a great unit and so are the Kiwis, after their T20 win over Pakistan. The Pakistan bowling unit looks threatening with Mohammad Amir being the spearhead. Sri Lanka is sporting a new side who would want to make a mark. Australia has a settled unit and would want to dominate this format too. Curtly Ambrose rightly spotted that West Indies have a great unit to win their second World T20. Needless to add, India is having a great run and will definitely look to lift the trophy after 9 years.

2. No More Alien Conditions – Even battle between Bat and Ball

Kudos to the Indian Premier League, most of the experienced players in most of the teams have a good hands-on experience of playing in Indian conditions. Unlike the previous editions, where the conditions were alien to most of the teams, the ICC World T20 2016 promises to be different. Moreover, pitches will have something for everybody. Had the tournament been in Australia or South Africa, it would have been easy to say that it would be bowler’s day out. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been spin paradise, and New Zealand is batsmen’s delight. But Indian pitches will have something to offer to all. Batting belters will not be the only case, as the recently concluded South African series and Sri Lankan series revealed that spin will get good assistance. Recent matches like the one at Pune, has also shown that pacers will have their say too. All in all, an even battle is on the cards!

3. The Impact of the T20 Leagues

By now, all the players have the experience of playing under tense situations. The players have been a part of the t20 leagues like the BBL, BPL, CPL, PSL and the IPL. All these leagues have done nothing but given great exposure to T20 cricket for the youngsters. Do not be startled if a rookie comes in to blaze away the opposition single-handedly. Young guns will have a say in this edition of the ICC World T20. The amount of T20 games has grown manifold since the last edition of the World T20 and no wonder why, this impact of the T20 leagues will be evident at the big stage this time around.

4. The Desire to Create History

While one might wonder that this happens all the time, but the only difference here is that the teams have a greater belief this time that they could actually make things work. Largely due to the above three reasons, teams like South Africa and New Zealand, who missed out narrowly in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, would want to register their maiden ICC major title. The minnows like Oman have got the opportunity to rub shoulders with the big guns. Do not be surprised if they pull off an upset. India, being the hosts, would certainly want to cap off another title under their belt after their 2011 ICC World Cup win at home.

5. T20 Extravaganza Comes to the Mecca of Cricket

The biggest reason why this edition of the ICC World T20 will be the best ever is the very fact that it is being held in India. India, like most players, would admit, is the home of cricket. India, having the greatest T20 league in the world, is an ideal place for the World Cup to take place. No doubt the tournament will be a big hit as crowds would flood into the stadiums to witness the event. The support for all teams is guaranteed and empty stands would be a rarity. The amount hype and advertisements that the tournament would gather will be unprecedented. Especially with the home team having a great run in t20s, plus the fact that there is an India-Pakistan game on the cards, this edition of the ICC World T20 will be the best ever!
