The incident took place in the T20I match between England and India in Manchester in 2011. While chasing a moderate score, the hosts were going on strong with Kevin Pietersen looking in some good form. MS Dhoni pulled another trick from his bag. He introduced Kohli into the attack. Though he had bowled at the highest level, he hadn’t bowled in a T20I match.

The first ball which Kohli bowled went down the legside. Pietersen, who was standing out of his crease wasn’t quick enough in comparison to Dhoni behind the stumps. Dhoni took the bails off and KP was adjudged stumped out. However, the umpire called it a wide ball and Kohli got a wicket off an illegitimate delivery. Hence, Kohli became the first and only bowler until now to get a wicket on the zeroth ball of his career.
