MS Dhoni is one of the most celebrated cricketers in the history of Indian cricket and it is for obvious reasons. He is the most successful Indian captain of all-time and has won each and every ICC trophy. Apart from that, he has been extremely successful as a wicketkeeper-batsman for India. There’s something about the Indian fans. If you criticise their favourite cricketers, you will surely get a reaction from them.

There is very less chance that no one will react if you say something negative. And MS Dhoni has over the years acquired many loyal fans for himself. There have been many instances where someone has pointed a finger at Dhoni but his fans were there to defend the former captain.

Here we bring you five instances when cricketers got trolled for their tweets against MS Dhoni:

1. Matt Parkinson

Matt Parkinson made a name for himself when he performed well at the domestic Twenty20 tournament last summer. After a terrific season with Lancashire club, the leg-spinner was drafted into the England squad for the T20I series in New Zealand. Since then, he has been with the white ball squad of the world champions. He has played two ODIs and as many T20I International.

Once he became popular, people on Twitter started noticing that Parkinson had posted a lot of hate tweets against Indian players and Indian cricket, especially MS Dhoni. Two other players who were targetted by the leg-spinner were Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. In one of his tweets from 2012, he wrote, “Kohli and Dhoni are disgraces.”

After Indian fans discovered these tweets, fans got really upset and started bashing the 23-year-old for his tweets. One of the fans also noticed that the spinner had removed more than 3,000 tweets from his profile once people started digging up his tweets.
