5 Times when Rohit Sharma created controversy
Most of these controversies have involved Indian captain Virat Kohli.
2. Liking a post which termed KL Rahul overrated
In World Cup 2019, Rohit Sharma was in red-hot form. He was the leading run-scorer for India in the tournament and scored five centuries as well. Moreover, he levelled the record of Sachin Tendulkar’s six World Cup centuries and was expected to play a big role in the West Indies.
He started well in the T20I series and also hit 67 in one of the first two games. However, Kohli decided to rest him for the last game and replace him with KL Rahul. Later, Rohit also impressed in the warm-up game that was played before the Tests began. While KL Rahul scored 36 in that match, Sharma mustered 68 runs and looked in great touch.
Yet, Virat Kohli opted for KL Rahul in the line-up for both the Tests. The opener failed in both the games and sitting out probably didn’t excite Rohit Sharma. Thus, he liked an Instagram post that wrote that KL Rahul was overrated sparking yet another major controversy.
