The Delhi Capitals should not look at their loss in the final as a major setback as they were beaten by one of the best teams in the league’s history. Instead, they should focus on the positives, which helped them reach this far in the tournament. In particular, they should be delighted with the resurgence of Ravichandran Ashwin. The off-spinner seems to have found his mojo back with the white-ball.

Hence now the team should try to build on their bench strength. And they can do it by trading players who don’t fit in their future plans. One of them being Sandeep Lamichhane, who failed to get a single opportunity in the IPL 2020.

The leg-spinner is a rising star on the T20 horizon, but the presence of Indian tweakers like Axar Patel, Praveen Dubey, and Ashwin will invariably keep him on the benches for most of the time.

That’s why Delhi should make a deal with someone like Kolkata Knight Riders. They can swap him with Tim Seifert or Tom Banton. Both the players are aggressive top-order batsmen and can add firepower to Delhi’s batting unit.

As far as KKR are concerned, it might also be a good move for them. Their spin department is struggling to make an impact owing to the poor run of form of Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav. So Lamichhane can reignite the spark in their spin attack.
