KL Rahul, who made 123 runs in the first inning, became only the second Indian opener to hit a ton in South Africa. He also won the Player of the Match award.

Indian bowlers will be a threat for the Proteas batters – South African captain Dean Elgar
During the post-match virtual press conference, South African captain Dean Elgar accepted that Shami posed some issues to the right-handed batters. He further mentioned that Bumrah is someone who ran in with high energy and challenged the batters. Elgar acknowledged that India has a well-balanced bowling attack and that the South African batters will have to be very mindful of while facing.
“Yeah, I think, Shami obviously posed some issues for our right-hand batters. Obviously, his wickets in the first innings reflect on that. And I would say Bumrah also, he is someone that’s always running with energy, high energy, irrespective of if he’s going for runs or not,” Elgar said.
“So he’s always going to challenge you as a batter You’ve got to be very mindful of facing both of them but saying that they’re quite a well-balanced attack at the moment now,” he added.
