A circular from Virat Kohli's school goes viral on social media

Kohli was always destined to become a great leader, a reflection of which was seen way back in his childhood. A picture of a circular from Virat Kohli’s school when he was studying in the ninth standard has gone viral on social media.
In the circular, the school announced that three students including Virat Kohli have been selected to Delhi’s U-15 team and Kohli is named as the captain of the side. Virat shifted to Saviour Convent school in Paschim Vihar in the ninth grade only for better cricket opportunities. This proved to be a turning point in his life as while leading Delhi’s U-15 team in the 2002–03 Polly Umrigar Trophy, the 32-year-old ended up with 172 runs at an average of 34.40.
A glance at Virat Kohli’s journey as a leader
The stunning performance, both as a captain and leader, in the tournament opened doors of opportunities for Virat and he grabbed all the chances with both hands. The Delhi-born went on to lead India in the U-19 World Cup and brought the Cup home in 2008. Since then there has been no looking back for the batting maestro as soon after winning the under-19 World Cup, he made his debut for India.
Over the coming years, Virat rose through the ranks and proved his mettle as a batsman. He went on to become the backbone of India’s batting line-up in all formats of the game and is now renowned as the best batsman of the modern era. Under Virat’s leadership, India won in overseas countries like Australia, England, and New Zealand. The 32-year-old also led India to the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017 and the semi-finals of the World Cup 2019.
