Aaron Finch rushed to the hospital after ball hits him on the chest: In yet another freak incident, Australian opener Aaron Finch was hit on the chest by a speeding delivery. The unfortunate incident happened during Yorkshire’s second XI match against Worcestershire on Monday at Barnt Green, near Birmingham.

After missing most of the recently concluded Indian Premier League’s eighth season, Aaron Finch was left out of Yorkshire’s side for the County Championship match against Nottinghamshire. Finch was batting on 19 when the incident happened. Chris Russell bowled a short pitched delivery and Aaron Finch tried to play a pull shot off the ball but instead ended up getting hit on his chest, which was a rather nasty blow.

The 28-year-old opener was rushed to the hospital after he was seen spitting blood. Finch was released from the hospital following scans. While the hospital reports are still awaited, Yorkshire have confirmed that the Aussie star will play no further part in the match.

It must have been a huge sigh of relief for Cricket Australia that Finch’s injury isn’t serious and there is no major damage caused. Aaron Finch has to his credit 6 One Day International hundreds with an average of 37. He is well known as an explosive batsman. He hasn’t earned a test call up yet.
