RCB and KKR will take up against each other in the Eliminator of IPL 2021 on October 11. RCB who are yet to win a title in their IPL campaign will be eying the game against KKR so as to step one inch closer to their dreams. In the same light, former KKR skipper and analyst Gautam Gambhir added that RCB have always had big batting names in their artillery and that has overshadowed their bowling performances.

Gambhir feels that the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell have dominated and they overshadow the bowling strength of the team. The former KKR skipper feels that this time around, RCB have comfortably bagged the playoffs berth due to the brilliance of Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal-led bowling attack.

“RCB always had those big names in batting, but their bowling has been overshadowed by these big names like AB de Villiers, Maxwell, and Virat Kohli in the batting order. We should not talk only about their batting but should also speak about bowling as well. Historically, their batting has always been great,” said Gambhir while previewing KKR vs RCB clash.

One can’t overlook RCB’s bowling contributions in IPL 2021: Gambhir

Gambhir further went on to laud the bowling unit of RCB this year and stated that it is because of them, they have good 18 points and third position on the points table. Harshal Patel who is the current purple cap holder has done his job brilliantly while spin King Chahal was also on point. Even Mohammed Siraj aced his job well and once can’t overlook them, reckoned Gambhir.

“But this year, it is because of their bowling that they are sitting comfortably on 18 points after the league phase. Harshal Patel with Purple cap, Siraj with pace, and Chahal troubling oppositions with his spin. You can’t overlook these guys’ contributions,” added Gambhir.

If RCB wins the clash against KKR, they will move on to face Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2021 on October 13. It remains to be seen how they show up in the game against Kolkata.
