The Indian national cricket team features a number of superstars. As a team, it always feels good to have so many excellent individuals playing in one jersey. However, there are also moments when the individuals find themselves competing against each other in their fans’ calculations. While some players get a better rating than others, others fall low at times, leaving their fans heartbroken.

Recently, popular actress Kajal Aggarwal came up with the names of her favourite cricketers on Twitter after being asked under the hashtag #AskKajal and they were Mahendra Singh Dhoni and current captain Virat Kohli. The 34-year-old actress’s preferences, however, left the fans wondering about Rohit Sharma, another contemporary batting superstar who smashed five hundreds in the ICC World Cup this year.

Dhoni hasn’t played for India after they lost the semi-final against New Zealand in the World Cup. Even as the cricketing fraternity kept on guessing as to when the 38-year-old will bid adieu to the game, he has not taken a call. The ace wicket-keeper-batsman, who led India to two world titles in 2007 and 2011, hasn’t been picked for two back-to-back series against the Windies and South Africa and one speculates that it might well be the end of the road for the man who has given unmatched service to the nation’s cricketing fortunes.

Kohli recently overtook Dhoni to become most successful Test captain

Kohli, on the other hand, has been as successful as the captain as like a batsman. He has not only completed 20k international runs and is well on the way to eclipse Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 international hundreds. Virat also overtook Dhoni recently to become India’s most successful captain in Tests with 28 wins. The ace batsman led India to the semi-final of the World Cup recently with a dominating show but faltered at the penultimate hurdle.

Kajal, an entrepreneur and singer besides an actress, saw her latest film ‘Comali’ – in Tamil – releasing in August. She has also acted in Hindi films like ‘Singham’ and ‘Special 26’ after making her debut in 2004 Hindi film ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…’.
