After Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, KL Rahul comes forward to donate amid Coronavirus outbreak

The former and current Indian cricketers came forward in order to support the government in the fight against threatful Coronavirus. Earlier, players like Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh donated big amounts to PM CARES relief fund and other foundations. Now, KL Rahul has also joined the bandwagon and he has decided to put his cricket kit accessories in an auction to raise funds for the poor and underprivileged children. He took this decision on the occasion of his 28th birthday on April 18.

COVID-19 outbreak forced the Indian government to extend the lockdown till May 3 which was supposed to finish on April 14. This hard step was taken by the officials after taking a long survey of the conditions across the nations. The lockdown extension news emerged as a major setback for the poor people, who are majorly dependent on daily wages. So, famous personalities from different industries came forward to give support to the government in the global crisis.

KL Rahul and his brand take a step forward to help the poor children 

Meanwhile, the cricketers looked quite active in order to give support to the government. Now, KL Rahul, one of the prolific cricketers at the moment in the country has taken a step to raise funds for the underprivileged children. On the occasion of his 28th birthday, the Indian opener said that he along with his brand Gully is going to make a special attempt to help the poor children in these alarming conditions.

Rahul recited that he is going to donate his cricket pads, my gloves and other kit accessories to their brand collaboration partner Bharat Army. Afterwards, they will raise the funds by organizing an auction that will be given to the Aware Foundation. He also added that it is an organization that looks after the children.

“Since it’s a special day for me, me and Gully have decided to something very sweet and something very special. I have decided to donate my cricket pads, my gloves, helmets and some of my jerseys to our collaboration partner Bharat Army. They are going to auction these things out and the funds will go towards the Aware Foundation. It’s a foundation that looks towards helping children. It is very special and I couldn’t pick a better day to do this,” KL Rahul said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
