Gilchrist raised the bar of wicket-keeper batters with his tantalizing and demolishing stroke-play apart from his supreme glove-work. Adam emerged as the protagonist in World Cup 1999 and 2007 finals. He featured in 287 ODIs and blasted 9619 runs at a belligerent strike rate of 96. Whenever Gilchrist clicked, matches became one-sided and the opponents got thrashed.
