After being axed from the squad following a weak performance in the first Test against England at Rajkot, Amit Mishra has been granted permission to play for Haryana in their upcoming fixture of the Ranji Trophy. Mishra hardly picked up a handful of wickets, something that saw him rendered ineffective, to say the least following the conclusion of the first Test at Rajkot.

Speaking about the same, Mishra went to state that he did not bowl all too well in the Test given the fact that he was playing a Test match after a considerably long time. He also went on to state that it did indeed take time for him to get into somewhat of a rhythm after not playing Test cricket.

Amit Mishra also went on to thank the BCCI for allowing him the chance to play for the Haryana side in spite of the fact that he was still contracted to the Indian cricket team.

“I wouldn’t say I bowled very well. It did take time for me to get my rhythm, especially since I was playing a Test after a long time. I was on the bench for two Tests in the West Indies and then sat out for the New Zealand Test series.”

“Also, I was coming off from the ODI series so the transition from ODIs to Tests did take some time. But, I believe there was an improvement in my bowling in the second innings and I bowled better,” Mishra had told BCCI.tv.
