Shahid Afridi confirmed on Saturday that he has been tested positive for Coronavirus. The cricketing fraternity has been wishing for his speedy recovery since then. However, a section of fans is surprisingly celebrating it on social media. Not long ago, the former Pakistan cricketer had spoken ill about Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) inviting controversy.

The video of the same had gone viral and this has led to many fans rather celebrating the news of Afridi contracting with COVID-19. Rather Harbhajan Singh had also reacted furiously after watching the video and had clearly stated he won’t be having any relation with Shahid Afridi.

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, however, isn’t happy by any means looking at fans’ reaction. He came across a Youtube video titled ‘Afridi got punished for his deeds’ and reckoned if the sensitivity and humanity are a thing of past these days.

He took to Twitter to express himself on the matter and also wished the speedy recovery of the 40-year-old. Are we serious?? Sensitivity…humanity…thing of the past?? Wish you a speedy recovery, Shahid. May the force be with you,” Chopra’s tweet read.

Here’s his tweet:

Gautam Gambhir also hoped for Afridi’s recovery

Apart from Aakash Chopra, Gautam Gambhir is the other Indian cricketer to hope for Shahid Afridi’s quick recovery from the virus. He kept aside the differences between them and hoped that not only the Pakistan cricketer but also all of them who are infected from the virus, should recover soon.

“Nobody should be infected with this virus. I have political differences with Shahid Afridi but I want him to recover as soon as possible. But more than Afridi I want every person infected in my country to get well as soon as possible,” he had said. Meanwhile, as soon as the news broke out, several cricketers across the world wished for Afridi’s well being and also pointed out the charity work he has done through his foundation.
