After a competitive ODI series, Australia and South Africa are set to lock horns in the first T20I tomorrow at Carrara Oval in Queensland. Albeit the encounter is set to be staged in Australia, the visiting team is expected to start as the favourites for the reason that they have momentum on their side. Moreover, they also won the T20 warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI by 41 runs.

On the other hand, the Aussies have strained in every format they have played this year. They have lost quite a few international series in succession and would somehow want to turn their wretched fortunes around. Prior to their T20I series against India, which starts on November 21 at The Gabba in Brisbane, Aaron Finch and his troops would wish to get back to winning ways.

Pitch

The venue is set to host its maiden international match and therefore nothing much is known about how the track would behave. Both teams would want to bowl first after winning the toss on the wicket, which may throw up a few mysteries for the players. The sides would want to check out the attributes of the pitch when the opposition team bats on it.

Team Combination

South Africa

Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks should be the openers with skipper Faf du Plessis to follow. Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller are the men in the middle order. The likes of Chris Morris and Andile Phehlukwayo are the fast bowling all-rounders. A lot would depend on how Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi bowls. Imran Tahir and Tabraiz Shamsi have to shoulder the spin department.
