Veteran wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni returned to Ranchi last week from Chennai after Chennai Super Kings suspended their training sessions in the wake of the outbreak of novel coronavirus. The former India skipper was in Chennai since the start of the month to train for the upcoming season. The training kickstarted on March 2 and was attended by the likes of Murali Vijay, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu and several others.

Dhoni was the star man of the training camp and thousands of fans arrived at the Chepauk to watch Chennai Super Kings train in the nets. But their joy was cut short because of the pandemic. Just hours after the BCCI suspended the IPL till April 15, Chennai Super Kings also decided to do the same to their training camp.

And while most of the players are keeping them isolated at their homes, Dhoni is keeping himself busy by doing things that he loves. The World Cup-winner was spotted playing badminton with his friends in Ranchi days after he returned from Chennai. By looking at the clip one can say that Dhoni is a handy badminton player.

The India superstar was also seen driving his bike around in the city. Dhoni’s love for Superbikes is well documented and he is making the most of the forced break. Dhoni took one of his Superbikes out for a ride and, as expected, his fans flocked to take selfies as he was waiting for a traffic light to turn green.

In another clip shared by Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Singh, the India cricketer was seen relaxing with his pet dog at his residence. The 38-year old could be seen petting his dog. His wife posted the adorable clip on her Instagram story on Monday.

IPL 2020 important for MS Dhoni for his international return

While only time will tell when will the IPL start, the tournament is extremely important as far as MS Dhoni’s international career is concerned. The India star has not played international cricket since India’s 2019 World Cup exit and the IPL is being seen as the tournament which can force his way back into the national side.

“He will be back in the reckoning only if he has a good IPL. And why only him? There are so many senior and young players who will play in the IPL. If they do well, they ought to be considered too. So, you could see some surprise inclusions,” a senior BCCI source had sad after Sunil Joshi took over from MSK Prasad as the chairman of selectors.
