Ben Stokes heavily trolled for supporting Boris Johnson over extending lockdown in the UK
The lockdown in the UK will continue until June 1.
The coronavirus has unfolded quite a bit of mayhem in the United Kingdom (UK). In the wake of the grave situation, Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister said that the lockdown period will extend until June 1. He addressed the nation on Sunday, May 10 and put forth his opinions. He also found support from Ben Stokes, the enigmatic England all-round cricketer.
In the UK, over 2,19,000 people have been affected by the ungodly virus and nearly 32,000 persons have lost their precious lives. There are some relaxations though like sunbathing and playing outdoor sports with the family members.
“This is not the time simply to end the lockdown this week…we are taking the first careful steps to modify our measures,” Johnson was quoted as saying. Back in April, Johnson was taken to the St Thomas’s Hospital in central London after he suffered from symptoms relating to the COVID-19.
Stokes lauded Boris for the inspirational speech in the tough times. Stokes took to Twitter and wrote, “I felt like I was in the room and he was talking to me…what a brilliant speech @BorisJohnson well done ????,”

Coronavirus affecting cricket
England have suffered quite a bit in the last few weeks. To start with, their away series against Sri Lanka had to be shelved. A few of their players were also set to take part in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has now been postponed for an indefinite period. The T20 Blast and the inaugural edition of the Hundred also had to be postponed.
Recently, Eoin Morgan, the England ODI and T20I skipper, said that the teams would be ready to play two matches simultaneously on the same date. Earlier, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that no professional cricket would take place in the UK until July 1. Meanwhile, a number of players around the world are ready to resume cricket behind the closed doors.
