AB de Villiers is one of the most athletic fielders in modern-day cricket. One of the best examples to prove that came in one of the matches in IPL 2018. Sunrisers Hyderabad was visiting Bengaluru for a league match. Having set a target of 219, Bangalore seemed firm favorites until Hyderabad got a good start with Alex Hales taking on the bowling.

In the eighth over of the chase, Hales charged down the ground and smashed one ball to the mid-wicket boundary. De Villiers, who had positioned himself right on the edge of the boundary pulled off a stunning catch. As the ball was sailing over him, de Villiers timed his jump perfectly and caught hold of the ball which was clearly going for a six.

The South African caught the ball while still being airborne with his right hand. Even after going for an outlandish jump, the gun fielder didn’t lose his shape and landed inside the fence. Virat Kohli’s reaction is a perfect way, to sum up, the Superman effort. He screamed with disbelief and ran towards his best mate to celebrate the catch, which stays fresh in the memories of many fans who watched it live.
